So, what should you do with all these goals you have set? The
typical person would get excited for awhile, then put it aside and
it's all forgotten after a while and go back to living their life
the way it always was.

If you want to stay focused on these goals, then you have to look
at them every day. They have to be at the top of your mind! What I
personally do is to pin my goals up next to my working desk. I even
type them out and digitally paste them on my computer desktop so I
am reminded of them whenever I turn on my computer.

What will make your goals very compelling would be to visually
organize them as a huge flow chart or a timeline where you can see
your financial progression over the years. For each age milestone,
list the goals that you would have achieved at that particular age.

I also cut out pictures (from magazines) of stuff that I dream of
buying and stick them on my flowchart. For example, I used to paste
a picture of a beautiful two-storey house next to 'Age 33'. By age
31, I achieved that goal of buying my dream house.

One of the key challenges you will face is to stay motivated over
the long-term. Many people know what to do and even how to do it
but they just don't do it! They procrastinate. Procrastination is
usually the number one killer of success. Learning how to overcome
procrastination and re-wiring your neurology for success is beyond
the scope of this book.

In 'Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny', my earlier best-selling
book, I teach how to take charge of one's mental and emotional
states so fear can be turned into power and procrastination into
enthusiasm. However, there are three powerful strategies you can
use to get yourself to overcome procrastination and take action now!

a. Make a Public Commitment
As mentioned earlier, when you share your dreams and goals with
friends, family members and colleagues, you put yourself on the
line to make it happen. When you make your goals known, some
friends will never let you forget it!

b. Have a 36-hour Action Plan
The most difficult thing to do is to take the first few steps
towards a goal. All of us have experienced an internal 'inertia'
that stops us from getting started. However, you will find that the
moment you take the few steps and start seeing progress, you will
gain the momentum to continue until the goal is accomplished.

I suggest that for each of the goals set, you write down three
action steps that you must take within thirty-six hours of setting
them. If you take those three action steps, it is highly likely you
will continue taking action.

For example, if your goal is to start an Internet business selling
specialized cookbooks, what are three steps you could take
immediately to get you committed? Well, you could 1) register a
domain name, 2) write up a business plan and 3) Pay $200 to
register your business. I guarantee you that by taking these three
steps immediately, your brain is going to take you seriously and
get you to take even more action.

c. Find a Support Group
I cannot emphasize how important it is to find a supportive group
of friends. I have found that the number one reason for people
losing their direction and motivation is because of the kind of
people they hang around with everyday.

You can get really inspired and all the goals you've set but if you
keep mixing around with and talking to friends who waste their time
with idle chit chat and spend their free time clubbing, then you
are going to lose the success battle.

On the other hand, if the people you mix around with constantly
talk about the stock market, bounce ideas about new business
opportunities and spend their time analyzing investments then trust
me, you will stay on track to make your millions. It is a common
saying that 'friends make you or they break you'. The people you
spend time with will greatly influence your dominant beliefs,
values, thoughts and aspirations.

So, do whatever it takes to find a group of friends who share the
same financial dreams as you and make it a commitment to support
and push each other on.

Why You Must Start Setting Goals!

If there is one message I must get across, it is this. You must
start setting goals in every major area of your life. Right now,
whatever your age, whatever you are doing.

Without something to focus on, the decisions we make and actions we
take daily will not have any long-term direction, and will not
result in any kind of achievement.

Without direction, we will be caught up with short term outcomes
like paying the bills, watching TV, going shopping, trying out the
newest restaurant, avoiding problems or simply making it through
one hectic week after another. Like rats on a treadmill. We will
tend to be caught up in a stressed and monotonous existence instead
of designing a destiny and truly living.

The human mind is always pursing some kind of goal, however feeble.
If we don't focus our mind on long term goals that lead us to
success, our minds will tend to focus on short term and small goals
that serve only tp distract us and waste our time.

I always like to use a river as a metaphor for life. We are all in
our boats moving down this raging river which splits into many
tributaries downstream, representing the many outcomes. Which
tributary we take will determine where we end up.

When we are clear which stream we want to take, we will begin
rowing in that direction. Now, along the way, there are definitely
going to be currents that pull us in different directions.

There are going to be rocks and rapids that block our path. But if
we stay focused on where we want to go, we will just keep rowing
steadfastly, re-directing our boat until we get to our destination.

However, if we go through life without any clear idea of where we
are going and where we want to end up, we will just row our boats
aimlessly. We will just allow the currents and the rocks to move us
in all directions.

This is what happens to most people. There end up going down a
stream that they don't want to be in. When they finally realize
that it is not an outcome they want, they start paddling hard to
avoid it. By this time, for many, it will be too late.

They go over the rapids (disaster) or finish up in a dead-end mill
pond. They end up feeling frustrated, disillusioned and unfulfilled
in the many different areas of their life. So, surely it is time to
start deciding where you want to end up in your river of life!

Blogger Mistakes You Can’t Afford To Commit

Who am I to teach you about blogger mistakes? I’m not a big-time blogger. Neither has my blog won any award.

But I do know one thing, that is, how to use my blog as a tool to achieve my goal.

I’m telling you this because this is exactly the TOP mistake that many new bloggers make.

Many new bloggers tend to treat their blog as some kind of online holy grail, thinking that as long as they have a blog, traffic will come and they will make money.

What they should do instead is to think of blog as just another a tool. It should be part of the business, not the business.

I know this is a bit theoretical and ‘dry’, but this is an important fundamental that you must understand, if you want to follow my advice.

As you know, I get most of my writing inspiration from our members’ questions. Today’s topic on blogger mistakes is no different.

Here’s the question I received from a member:

“I respect you as a master marketer with great knowledge and insight. Could you have a quick look at my blog, http://membership-millions.com/blog/, and suggest ways to get it really going… and also to start making REAL money??” - Izzy Joseph

I’m not sure how Izzy’s blog is performing now. But if I were to be critical, here are some advice I can think of:

1) Build A Business, Not A Blog

As I said, I don’t consider myself as a blogger. My approach to blogging is from the perspective of a marketer.

To me, blog is one of my marketing tools for my business. In other words, blogging is not my business, and it should not be your business too.

Frankly, I can’t see a business in your blog. What I can see instead is you are trying to write some articles and get people to buy the Clickbank product you’re affiliated to. That’s not a business.

Your domain name is membership-millions.com. If I were you, I will turn the blog into a resource centre that teaches people how to make money from membership. You may write articles that teach people how to start a membership site, how to promote membership sites, etc. You can engage a freelancer to create a membership script to give away.

If you choose to go the membership way, everything you do should be related to membership. Your opt-in freebie should be an ebook about membership. Your articles should be about membership.

If you are afraid that you may not have enough material to write about membership, your worry is unnecessary. Everything about internet marketing can be twisted to link to membership. For example, your little twitter ebook can be renamed to “how to promote your membership with twitter”.

2) Forget About Making Money

Beggars can’t be choosers. New bloggers can’t be choosers too. For a new blog, you must focus on providing useful content and forget about making money.

At the beginning stage, you MUST establish your blog as a useful resource that people can turn to. Promoting affiliate products should be a by-the-way thing.

For example, while teaching people how to promote their membership websites, there may be some traffic tools that you can recommend.

You are more likely to make sales if you focus on providing useful advice rather than focusing on promoting the product.

3) Be Extremely Proactive In List Building

If you have been reading my blog, you should know that I advocate ‘list’ before ‘blog’.

If you haven’t started building a list, you should do it asap.

When I say building a list, I’m not talking about the opt-in form that is currently in your blog. I’m talking about a separate squeeze page that you actively advertise and promote to get people to opt-in.

You need to build your list fast so that these subscribers can become your blog readers. Else you are forever talking to dust.

4) Practice Search Engine Optimization

Your blog may be SEO ready, but your articles are not, or at least I can’t see how a new blog can get to the top search result for a highly competitive keyword of “How To Make Money Online Fast” with some 1,390,000,000 competitions.

If you don’t understand SEO, learn it. If you have learnt it, practise it.

Build links to your blog. Research your keywords before every post. This is the minimum you should do.

You won’t see immediate effects. But in 3 to 6 months, you will reap what you sow.

These are the immediate things you as a blogger.

Moving ahead, there are tons of things you can do to keep you very busy. For example, you can sell your own product, start your own affiliate program, create a brand for yourself in your niche and a lot more.

The key message I want to put across to you is a blog is just a tool to achieve your goal. Create a game plan and see how a blog can fit into the picture instead of the other way round.

Should I Start A Blog Or Website First?

Should I start a blog or website first? I believe this is a common question many newbies ask nowadays.

To answer this question, you must first ask yourself what is your objective?

Are you trying to:

- sell your own product?
- make money as an affiliate?
- make money from advertising such as Adsense?
- Or you simply want to share your knowledge with the world (and make some money in the process)?

Sell your own product….

If you are trying to sell your own product, the answer is obvious. You should first have your product website.

You should focus your initial effort in getting traffic from joint venture and advertising, and building a list. You should not waste your time blogging to thin air (assuming you are totally new and has no traffic sources).

BUT as soon as you have a substantial list, say 1000 subscribers, you can start blogging, with 2 intentions in mind: 1) to build relationship and sales, and 2) to build search engine traffic “for the future”.

Make money as an affiliate….

With so many ways to make money as an affiliate, it’s impossible for me to cover the details here. But whichever way you use, starting with a blog is definitely not the fast way and certainly not the way I would recommend.

You can start with a presell website, advertise to get targeted traffic and sales. Or you can start with a squeeze page to build a targeted list.

You should start a blog ONLY when you have a list, and you should blog with 2 intentions in mind: 1) to build relationship with your list and make more sales, and 2) to build more traffic from the search engine.

Make money from advertising such as Adsense….

How about building many blogs on different niches, optimizing them for search engine traffic and monetizing them through Adsense?

Compared to static HTML websites, blog indeed offers a better alternative because you can easily make changes to your blog through templates.

But as your empire gets bigger, you may realize that it becomes troublesome to manage so many blogs, with so many different logins, databases and templates. I believe there are software that you can use to mass manage blogs, especially Wordpress self-hosted blogs. (I don’t use such software. If you have any recommendation, feel free to share it below.)

Note: If you want to use blog for this purpose, remember to remove posting date from the template and DO NOT show any post history by date. The reason is obvious. Since you are not going to update the blog very often, disclosing the posting dates will not do you any good.

Besides static HTML website and blog, another alternative is to start with .php websites. (Note: Wordpress blog is also a PHP website, but here I’m talking about simple PHP website without the need to install or create databases.) The advantage of creating website in .php instead of .html is that you can use the PHP INCLUDE function to build simple templates for your website. If you were to make some changes, you just have to change the templates instead of altering every file. If you understand HTML, you can easily pick up simple PHP language and learn to do it.

Share your knowledge….

Lastly, if you simply want to get online and share your knowledge, I advise you to start with a content website instead of a blog.

Before you think I am anti-blogging, read my explanation below:

If you are good at scrapbooking, you probably have some fundamental skills that you want to share. It will be better if you create something like an online learning center for scrapbooking fans, with organized scrapbooking tutorials that your visitors can study.

You can still have a blog, but it’s more for current issues, latest promotions, etc. Yet again, you should always build a list if you want to start a blog.

Have You Fed Your Mind and Soul ?

Most of us eat to feed our stomachs at least 2-3 times day. It has
become a habit and something we do to satisfy our body's hunger.

However, have you considered how often you feed your mind and your
soul? If you want to grow in terms of your emotional strength and
mental strength and abilities, then you have to constantly feed
your mind and soul as often as you feed your body. If not, the only
growth you will achieve is in growing fat.

One of the things that has really helped me to become successful is
that since I was aged 13, I got into the habit of constantly
feeding my mind everyday. I would constantly read books on success,
money, sales, marketing, leadership, NLP etc.. I would also read
lots of biographies. My favourite ones are on Lee Kwan Yew, Richard
Branson, Steve Jobs and Donald Trump. I always felt that by reading
Lee Kwan Yew's biography (from third world to first: the Singapore
Story), it was like I downloaded 80 years of his knowledge,
experience, wisdom and past decisions to my brain

So, although I am only 35 years old now, I am able to make great
decisions because I feel like I have got a few hundred years of
experience in my brain (Lee Kwan Yew 80 years + Steve Jobs 50 years
+ Donald Trump 40 years + etc...). How did I find the time to read so
much? My habit has always been to carry a book in my bag at all
times.

So, every time I am waiting for someone, taking the bus (when I was
a student), in the toilet etc... I would grab the book and start
reading. Doing this, I would be able to finish at least 1-2 books a
week. Today, I read a lot when I am on the plane, waiting at the
airport and when I am driving (I listen to audio books).

Be careful also about what you feed into your mind. When you keep
eating junk food, it will spoil your health and making you slow and
lethargic. At the same time, you have to ask yourself what you are
feeding your mind everyday. What magazines do you read? Which
websites do you visit? What shows do you watch? What are the last 5
books you have read.

When people tell me that they want to become rich, I am shocked to
learn that they never read information that will feed their mind in
the right way. They don't read magazines like Forbes, The Edge, The
Economist. They don't watch programmes like CNBC, CNN Money. They
don't got to websites like cnbc.com, moneycentral.com or
cnn.com/money. They don't read books on investing, financial
planning, property etc... They don't read the money pages on the
newspapers. Instead they feed their minds with FHM, Sports Pages,
Lifestyle etc... Nothing wrong with all theses things, It's just that
it will not feed your mind to become rich, just entertained.

Feed Your Soul
==============

In order to constantly feel inspired, re-charged, fulfilled and
motivated, we also have to constantly feed and nourish our soul.
Different people feed their souls in different ways. Some people
pray, others meditate, others write journals and some go on nature
walks. I read inspirational books, play with my children and spend
time with my wife and family.

If you constantly feel stressed, drained or unfulfilled, you
probably have not allocated the time to nourish your soul and
spirit daily. So, feed your mind and soul today to create the
mental and emotional strength you need.

How To Promote Affiliate Products - My Preferred Way

There are many ways to promote affiliate products. Of all the methods, my preferred way is to create “my own product” and promote affiliate products indirectly.

“My own product” can be in the form of a content website, a blog, a forum, a piece of software that I give away to build list or a free online application or service.

The key concept here is that I’m building and promoting traffic for my own product. As i do so, I’m at the same time channeling traffic to other products I’m affiliated to.

Most affiliates are attracted to the idea of promoting affiliate products without a website or with a simple one-page site. I agree these are faster way to make money. The problem is the growth potential is limited.

Building a business is not about making money. It’s about building a long-lasting asset, a cash cow that you can milk for many years.

An example of how to promote affiliate products by creating your own product:

Recently I came across a website called instantdomainsearch.com. It’s fast becoming one of my favorite sites.

This website allows me to ‘instantly’ search for available domain names. (Honestly, the search result is not really updated. But it’s good enough for preliminary search). What’s more important is usually, when I found a domain that I wanted, I’ll just click through its GoDaddy link to buy the domain name right away. This means the website is earning some commissions.

This is a perfect example of what I mean by creating your own product and promote affiliate products indirectly.

An important advantage of creating your own product is that you have a lot more ways to drive traffic.

- You can do SEO
- You can do joint venture
- You can add your own product for sale and build affiliates to promote for you
- You can build a list
- More importantly, if your own product creates real value, it will attract traffic automatically through words of mouth, which is the most powerful traffic generation method.

This method takes more time and effort, but it will give you more lasting income, more growth potential and eventually more stability.

Neobux Strategy For Standard Members

Hello there,

If you are a standard member or a newly joined member of Neobux then this guide is just for you ~!

Many of the pioneers started off by trial and error and some have made it eventually to earning a decent income from neobux.

Others were left lost wandering in the wilderness and decided to give up and think that Neobux is not for them.

Enlightened ones have write guides and tips for others so that they may be able to share their knowledge and also to gain new brethren within the ranks of Neobux as their refferals.

I went to Google for "Neobux Strategy for standard members" and this came up on the top of the search. After reading it I find it pretty useful hence decided to repost this for all of you guys there who are struggling or new to Neobux and want to increase your earnings.

1. Choose a time of day that you can click ads and eventually manage your referrals at the same time everyday.

2. Click all available ads everyday (when you get referrals this is necessary to earn from referral clicks).

3. Utilize all free methods of advertising to gain any direct referrals. Talk it up with your friends and relatives. Put a tagline on your e-mail signature. Post in forums. Use free traffic exchanges.

4. Once your account balance reaches $2. Transfer this money to your rental balance and rent 3 referrals. It is only $0.90 to rent the referrals but you will need the remainder to properly manage the referrals.

5. Put the autopay function on.

6. If a referral of yours has not clicked today or yesterday and has click average of less than 2.0 then recycle it ($0.08) and get a new referral. If they have a click average of between 2.0 and 4.0, I will give them 4 days before I recycle them. I will give those with an average of over 4.0 seven days to return and click just because I would hate to recycle a great referral just because they were on vacation for a week.

7. Whenever, one of your referrals goes below 20 days before next payment pay to add another 30 days. Below 20 days, the autopay function does not work and you will not get the savings for that referral.

8. Every time your account balance reaches $1 transfer the money to your rental balance. At first when you are only making a couple of cents per day it is important to keep enough in your rental balance to maintain your recycling activity because you can only transfer in $1 increments. Once you can complete this transfer and have at least $2.40 in your rental balance rent another 3 referrals.

9. Continue this process until you are making a $1 a day in your account balance. At this point you can begin renting in bigger chunks of referrals every 7 days. Never rent a number of referrals that is greater than 33% of your existing totals as these will become difficult to manage through recycling with your earnings.

10. It will take a while but continue the above listed process until you reach 500 referrals. At this point stop renting and just maintain your referrals. Accumulate the earnings until you can pay for the upgrade to golden.

11. Once golden, maintain your referrals as before. Every week continue to rent referrals until you hit the 2000 refs mark. Any money that you are not sinking into referral maintenance or renting is profit for you.

Free Targetic Web Traffic

I just received $202.90 in affiliate commission from one of my niche websites that I have not touched for several years. Not bad, considering that I hardly spend time on that website.

In today’s blog, I’m going to explain to you how you can do the same.

What I’ve done is probably the most traditional form of affiliate marketing, where I create a content website educating people on a niche topic and recommend products that I’m affiliated to.

For years, the website has been receiving free targeted web traffic from the search engines. In fact, it has been ranking in the top 3 position in Google for some important keywords in that niche.

Not to beat around the bush, here’s exactly how to do it:

1) First, you need relevant content.

For example, if you are promoting stock trading products, your first move is to create a website teaching people how to trade the stock market.

To your visitors, your website should look like a good resource center where they can learn about stock trading.

But from marketing angle, your website is actually made up of articles that are written to target certain keywords so as to get free targeted web traffic from the search engines.

2) Next, you need backlinks.

With targeted keywords and great articles, the next element you need is backlink.

Keyword + Content + Backlinks = Endless Search Engine Traffic

Once you have these 3 elements, your free targeted web traffic will grow gradually on autopilot.

3) Lastly, you need to convert the traffic into sales

Knowing how to convert the traffic into sales is a science. Here I’ll share with you 2 common strategies:

- Give them headache, sell them Panadol

People love free info, but they prefer quick fix.

Using the stock trading example, while your website may be teaching people how to trade the stock market, you can easily recommend some trading ebooks that give them some surefire trading strategies.

Or if you are building a website about acne problem, you can easily recommend an ebook that teaches them how to get rid of acne in 7 days.

- Teach them how, sell them the tools

Your website focuses on providing the know-how. In order to do what you teach, you recommend your readers to use certain tools, which you are affiliated to.

For example, if you are building a stock trading website, you can easily recommend tools like brokerage firm, trading software etc.

That’s it. A simple and straight-forward way to make some affiliate commission using free targeted web traffic. The method may be old-fashioned, but it still works in today’s environment.

Making Money with Email Marketing and an Autoresponder Series

Do you have a mailing list ? you may be part of a mailing list yourself may not even knowing it. If you have entered your name and email address on a web form to subscribe to someone's blog or get a free ebook, Congratulations you are part of a list !

I have subscribed to a few lists myself because you can be constantly updated about what is going on and to gain valuable information from the person you are subscribing to.

A mailing list is also very convenient for marketers to spread the word to everyone about new launches or free stuff or share information without emailing each and everyone one by one.

Ironically I have also gotten the idea of this post from an email by Michael Dunlop about how to make money with your mailing list and autoresponder.

Making money online isn’t always easy and nothing is for curtain in business, however when you have a good email list, it can be like printing money!

Today I want to share with you how to create your own email list and to make money from it. The great thing about having a list is you can always be making money, all you need to do is find a offer that you can sell to your mailing list and then send it to them. For example, last month when I was in Cyprus I emailed my list a promotion and was able to pay for my whole entire trip two week trip, all it took me was 5 minutes. The thing with blogging is that your traffic can drop and advertisers can come and go but if you look after your ‘list’ it is yours forever. If you were to lose your blog today you would have nothing to show for it, your advertisers won’t carry on paying and readers will quickly realise you no longer exist, however if you had an email list you would carry on making money. Personally 80% of my income comes from sales generate from my email marketing and eCourse and is by far the best approach to making money blogging I have come across.

If you have been following our Tweets at @Churp2, you'd also know that we have been seeing lots of interested advertisers and giving them presentations to introduce them to ChurpChurp.

Some of you might wonder "How does this work on the advertiser side?"

Here's how: After these presentations, we normally submit proposals for ChurpChurp campaigns to the advertiser. From then they could take 1-2 weeks to iron out the details, then to book the campaigns. Once these campaigns are booked, we then wait for the campaign date to roll everything out alongside the advertising campaigns on other mediums that the advertiser has also booked (e.g. TV, Print, etc etc).

Hence the whole process from start to end may take 3-4 weeks. Which explains why our first campaigns are now rolling out after we started 3-4 weeks ago.

basically you should,
1. place a search box at the top right corner

2. place ad unit under "About me" section since first time readers usually will look out for this.

3. place ads at the end of a long post or at the beginning of a short post ( large rectangle )

Found this on labnol blog which I think makes perfect sense but i'm not sure if it works since I have not tested it so you can try it out and tell me if it works for you if you haven't been earning much from Adsense. =)

Myth : My First Affiliate Site Needs to Generate a Full-Time Income...

This is easily one of the most destructive notions that beginners seem to have, because it sets them up for disappointment from the beginning...

A lot of folks are depending on their very first project to generate windfalls of cash, fix all the financial problems in their life and send them on a first-class ticket to easy street.

And while sometimes this can happen - the far more realistic, actual real-life picture is this:

• Most of your small-sized affiliate sites (10 pages or so) - assuming each one is testing a different market with unique content - will end up averaging about 50 unique visitors a day (some far more, others far less) and generating a few sales a week.

• About 80% of the mini-sites you build will have anywhere from poor to mediocre results, while the other 20% will generate comparitively substantial results. Don't worry - the 20% will more than make up for the 80% (which will still generate at least some results if you're in profitable markets).

• In time, the cumulative, compounding effect of these "small" results will equate to a substantial, and for the most part steady monthly income (which will grow so long as you keep adding new sites to the mix, since some will start to fade after awhile with no ongoing promotion).

• And the real money will be made when you expand into the markets that have performed best for you with "mini-sites", by building actual authority sites, building up a base of newsletter subscribers, and in general building an actual business around that topic.

It's the affiliates who can stick through this process, persist and realize that the more action they take, the more money they'll make.

And as a word of encouragement - I've had single affiliate mini-sites that generated an average of over $500 a day for about 6 - 8 months before they started "fading" due to the fact that I was no longer promoting them - and they still each generate usually over about $100/day even now, years later.

So when you hit those "goldmine" topics and offers - it really pays off.

And like I said above - when you simply look at your results and start establishing a REAL presence in the markets that are paying off with your test "minisites", then the results start becoming very substantial. Well beyond what you can make with your 10-page mini sites.

Keep in mind also that authority sites - sites with tons of great content and user benefits (like forums, newsletters, cool resources, etc) hardly ever drop off the map. Your traffic will be steady for years to come if you put in the time and effort - in a niche that pays well.

Following this simple approach of building at least 4 "mini-sites" per month and then scaling up your presence in the markets that perform best - getting to 6 figures a year in affiliate profit in 12 months is realistic and very possible.

(And that's passive income, folks.)

But building ONE site and hoping it will turn into the golden goose - though potentially viable in rare cases - is what I consider to be a pipe dream.

So when you're starting out, don't aim for the windfalls.

Instead, build a base of small performers that - together - produce anything but "small" results...

You Need to Have Lots of Technical Skills to be Successful Online...

So many people get hung up on stuff like HTML, the technicalities of SEO, graphics programs, CSS styles, PHP, javascript, dynamic navigation - and in general - all the allegedly "required" bells & whistles that you'll be exposed to as you develop your sites.

This is a misconception that limits a lot of people for absolutely no good reason.

Fact: Most of my top-performing sites (affiliate or otherwise) are simple HTML with absolutely no fancy functions, graphics, "flash" or bells & whistles.

Your money is made on the offers you make - not by how flashy your site is...

In fact, here's 3 reasons why technical "skill" is totally over-rated and in many cases irrelevent...

1. Simple Practically Always Outperforms "Stylish".

It's true. The more cluttered your site becomes, the less effective your results - simply because you're providing distractions for your visitors that divert them away from the things that make you money, your offer. So is there really a need to have an "amazing" site that does a bunch of nifty stuff?

Probably not. I have straight-text affiliate sites that single-handedly generate what most would consider a full-time income. Some of my first ones are so hideous that I'm literally embarrassed to show them to some of my friends...

2. There's So Many Easy to Use Web Tools - There's no Excuse!

With the technology that's available today - like blogs, web-based HTML editors, "what you see is what you get" HTML editors like Dreamweaver and so on, you'd have to be just plain lazy not to be able to at least get something out there on the web.

Hell - you can even just start out by using sites like HubPages.com, Squidoo.com and so on and create product reviews for affiliate sites at first.

And most importantly...

3. Technical Skill is a Dime a Dozen - but Effective Marketing is NOT...

There are thousands upon thousands of incredibly talented people from around the globe on sites like GetAFreelancer.com, Elance.com and so on that are far better at design, programming, HTML and whatever else than you or I will most-likely ever be - and they have competitive rates because there's so much supply!

Let me put it this way - it's pretty hard to make a living as a freelancer, even if you've got mad technical skill.

But in contrast, there's marketers who literally make MILLIONS with the simplest of sites, because they have an effective offer that matches their market's desires.

And that's who makes the real money, and they usually hire talent because it's so cheap in relation to what those sites will make them back.

I don't know about you - but I'd say that "technical skill" should be the last thing on your list of things to master.

What matters is the following:

1. Identifying Hot Markets

2. Identifying and/or Creating Hot Offers For Those Markets

3. Getting Your Offer In Front of Your Market

That's how it works, folks, and that's how the (real) money gets made.

Most of the “How to make money online for beginners” articles on the web are either trying to sell a turnkey money making system or attempt to provide a huge list of a-z ways to make money online. But none of them have the answer I have in mind.

That’s why I decided to write my own version of how to make money online for beginners.

I started reading about how people made money online since 1999. Like many beginners, I opted-in to many gurus’ lists, reading their newsletters, trying and failing different opportunities.

At that time, information was pretty fragmented. Different gurus seem to have different ways to make money online. I was learning, trying, failing and confused.

Later I learnt that there is a technical term for this stage. It’s called initial perturbation. It happens whenever we are exposed to something new. It’s the beginning of a new learning process.

So my first ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - be ready to learn, try, fail and get confused. It’s a natural process anyone will have to go through. During this time, you’re subconsciously building your industry knowledge, marketing senses and business acumen.

In 2005, I had an opportunity to help my employer at that time to build a simple company website. No one in the company knew about website building, so I volunteered to build one.

Did I know anything about website building? Not at all. I picked up a book called Frontpage For Dummies, read it over a weekend and spent the next one week building the company’s website after the office hours. With the basic website building skill, I started building all kinds of websites. That’s when the real game started.

So my second ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - learn the technical stuff. If you believe in those gurus who tell you that you don’t need to know anything technical, well, good luck to you. All I can say is, the more competent you are technically, the more tricks you can do and the higher your chance of success.

Like many of you who have your own website, the next problem I had was how to promote my websites and bring traffic. That was when I seriously learnt about SEO, copywriting, advertising etc.

So my third ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - practice purposeful learning. Purposeful learning means you only learn things that you need to use now. For example, if you build a content website, you need to learn and practice everything about SEO. If you build a squeeze page, you need to learn and practice everything about copywriting and advertising. Purposeful learning will make the learning process fun and you are more likely to appreciate and internalize what you’ve learnt.

Finally, my last ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - treat yourself like an employee. Apart from thinking of new money making ideas and strategies, all other things about making money online is boring and repetitive. For example, website building is boring and repetitive. Traffic generation is also boring and repetitive. If you treat yourself like an employee, set datelines for yourself and push yourself to meet the datelines, you are more likely to complete the boring and repetitive tasks and eventually get the rewards you deserve.

In summary, here’s my advice on how to make money for beginners:
- Get over the initial perturbation
- Learn the technical stuff
- Practice purposeful learning
- Treat yourself like an employee

If you can follow through these four advices, there’s no reason why you can’t succeed.

How to Get Ranked in Google

Yes, for competitive keywords, it can take a lot of time and effort to obtain a top-tier ranking in Google's index. And competitive rankings have to be "maintained", which is shaky at best.

Keep in mind that those coveted keyword spots (like "weight loss" and "forex trading") will always be competitive and up for grabs. So even if you do make it to the number-one organic listing, it's truly just a matter of time until somebody else knocks you out.

It kinda sounds like I'm supporting this myth, rather than debunking it - right?

Wrong.

But the core problem with this myth isn't about getting "ranked". The core problem is that this myth is commonly believed by people who don't really understand how to get organic search engine traffic to begin with.

You don't "succeed" at SEO by ranking for a single, target keyword.

Folks, the whole point of organic SEO is to get traffic from literally thousands of keyword variations as a result of having a variety of unique content that's spidered and indexed by Google's databases.

And that's what Google wants as well - which is why they love authoritative content sites like Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers and so on. In fact - about 50% of all searches conducted on Google.com are unique. Think about that...

In fact, if you don't believe me, ask anybody who owns a site getting over 1,000 unique visitors per day from organic search. 99% of the time, the vast majority of their traffic will have originated from tons of long-tail, specific keywords.

Even if they're ranked #1 for the top keyword in their niche with the most traffic, if they've got a solid base of content, I can practically guarantee you that their "coveted" ranking accounts for only a small percentage of their overall traffic.

I say that with confidence because over the years, I've seen it first hand.

In fact, if you want to get serious traffic from Google - all for free - it just comes down to a simple process. Zero mystery. Here it is:

Unique Topical Content + Links From Other Sites = TRAFFIC

I don't know why people complicate that to death - but they do. That is SEO, plain and simple.

Now - with effective affiliate marketing, it's all about centering your content on profitable topics. Topics that serious prospects and buyers will be searching for.

This includes things like product reviews, product & company information, coupon codes, and even in some cases - where to buy the product.

Hint: Use Google's keyword tool to search for product names preceded by the word "buy". Even moderately popular products will have keyword trends like this with enough volume to be tracked by Google's keyword traffic estimator.

Think about how profitable it would be to build content around...

You can also build content around the "interest keywords" and related topics to the offers you're promoting, which won't be ultra-targeted like the product-centric keywords, but they'll still bring in targeted traffic, which will still generate sales.

That's the "big secret" folks...

By giving Google what they want (a variety of on-topic, unique content that's relevent to the user's search), they'll give you what you want - traffic.

Notice how easy things get when you switch from trying to "exploit the web" - to simply focusing on helping your visitors?

So let's summarize the truth about how to get tons of traffic from Google the easy way...

Point #1: The "big" keywords are NOT where the real traffic is. The real traffic comes from the compound result of ranking for thousands of specific keyword variations as a result of simply having lots of good, relevent and unique content.

Point #2: Ranking for thousands of specific keyword variations is EASY. You just need the content. It's a very simple formula - so get writing.

Point #3: Accept that organic rankings are OUT OF YOUR CONTROL. The whole idea is to simply provide enough targeted content for the search engines to work with so that the "random" nature of their indexing and ranking will result in the compound effect of consistent overall traffic.

(It's kind of like playing roulette on the inside - the more chips you've got scattered across the board each time the wheel spins, the more often the ball will land on your number.)

So stop trying to "get ranked".

Instead, focus on building up a base of highly-relevant content based around the profitable subjects in your market - products, problems and helpful information that your market is actively looking for, and the process will literally take care of itself.

Tapping into Google's free traffic sources is easy, and it can generate incredible results for you - especially as an affiliate. In fact I've yet to find any web-based strategy that's produces revenue that's as passive as affiliate commissions driven by organic traffic. It's incredible.

And it all boils down to one, simple truth:

When you give people - and search engines - what they want, you'll get what you want.

Myth : Do What You Love And the Money Will Follow...

This is probably one of the biggest myths of all time...

Not just in the affiliate industry, but in the entire business landscape altogether.

There are the odd exceptions, but by and large, when people insist that they only way they can be successful and happy is to build a business around their favorite hobby - or their biggest passion - they are destined to make a very painful realization:

Your passions and Your ideas do NOT drive the marketplace.

The only thing that matters is what the customers want.

And what they buy.

Not to sound like a hardened capitalist (and I'm not), but the simple fact of that matter is that if you want to succeed in business, then your job is simple:

Sell stuff that lots of people want.

And the same applies to affiliate marketing. In fact - it's even easier, since you don't have to compete in the marketplace as another contender. You can just waltz right in, find out what people are already buying, and then get in front of that crowd with an offer they're already interested in.

Like I mentioned in my video the other day, successful affiliate marketing is more about facilitating an inevitable sale than it is about "convincing".

(Your visitors will most-likely buy something in your market anyway, so it might as well be through your referral link.)

You see, by only focusing on YOUR passions, or things that interest YOU - in effect you are willfully choosing to be blind to the totally transparent "success blueprints" that exist in virtually every market when you decide to switch your mindset.

What do I mean?

Well, what I mean is that when you're in "passion mode", by default, market research and carefully evaluating your customer profile takes a distant backseat to figuring out how you're (allegedly) going to make it big with your passionate idea.

It's a mindset of "I know this is going to be HUGE - but how?"

And thus begins the endless quest for traffic, "exposure", joint ventures, media coverage, etc. And even if you do manage to get "exposed", it doesn't matter.

If people don't already want what you're offering - or if you're not targeting active buyers with relevant offers - then how on God's Green Earth are you going to turn a profit?!

And yet, this mindset describes the majority of beginner affiliates, small-biz startups and so on.

In fact, I wasted 2 full years trying to make something I thought was great pay off. Long story short, it didn't.

In contrast, when I finally switched my mindset from "passion" to simple observation - I ended up actually making more profit in a SINGLE DAY (in the first month of my mindset switch), than I'd made in the entire 2 years trying to beat a non-existent horse.

You see, when approach your affiliate business from an attitude of observation and research, something happens. You stop trying to figure out how YOU can do YOUR thing.

And instead, you discover how to determine what's selling, who's selling it successfully - and how you can simply model that "success blueprint" and get the same results.

Boom - you just saved yourself years of testing, trial and error. That is the nature of successful business, folks...

1. Find out what people are buying.

2. Find out who's selling it, and how. And,

3. Apply those core elements to your own project.

I've gotta tell you folks - it is not hard to earn a full-time income as an affiliate once you really "get" this. It's formulaic, and you can literally duplicate a simple process over and over again in one market (or sub-market) after the next to build up an income that is multiplying geometrically.

Passion is fine - and there's probably a lot of markets and products out there that you can market successfully and be passionate about.

But the key is to go about it in the right order.

First find out what's selling - and then choose what you can be passionate about, if you're not already inspired enough by the business itself - whether you're selling bedsheets, turbochargers or a "Learn Spanish" course, etc - in the end, the net result is the same.

You can be passionate (and broke), or you can be passionate about marketing, sell what sells and make a killing. Your choice.

Why Neobux is not suitable for you

Hi, you must be wondering why this controversial post as I'm such a fan of the pay-to-click website Neobux.

Firstly, no PTC suits everyone and every site has its flaws : Neobux included.

Why isn't Neobux for everyone ?

No specific IP address per user

They have increased their security measures to prevent click fraud. This is a good thing but for Singaporean home users like myself using the local ISP, the ISP does not allocate a static IP address for every user for those on broadband hence some of us may be sharing the same IP without knowing so and if someone else happens to be a Neobux-er as well, it will create some problems and the ERROR sign occurs.

You must click every day to earn from rented referrals

This is something very unique to Neobux because no other PTC enforce this rule so its quite a liability if you are unable to have access to your own internet to login and click every single day.
This will not be a problem if you do not rent referrals at all but most of us who do will find it quite challenging because once you miss your click for a day, you will be penalised by not being able to earn from your rented referrals the next day for a whole day. Imagine how much income you lose in just one day if you have thousands of referrals.

So if you travel frequently and cannot access the internet on a daily basis, Neobux is not for you.
